I recently had the opportunity to share a piece with Computer Weekly looking at what Doom taught me about networking, security, and trust - and how some of those early lessons still resonate in cybersecurity today.

If you grew up playing Doom (or just enjoy the intersection of gaming and security), I'd love to hear what you think.

Check out the article: CW@60: What Doom taught me about networking, security and trust | Computer Weekly

Who would have thought that Doom could teach us anything? Back in the days, we were only rotting our brains with gaming, but alas, something good came out of it!

I totally agree with you on the article, there is a lot of learning in being curious, and see how far you can go..
R.I.P my AMD Duron 700mhz that I overvolted to the point of no return.. but what glorius gains I had in FPS for a couple of hours..

Yep, gamers were the first overclockers, the first to liquid cool their systems, and generally the ones pushing there performance envelope.

BTW Glenn, good to have you on board, my friend.
